Iran tillhandahåller solenergi till 10,000 nomadfamiljer

The Iranian Electricity Generation, Distribution and Transmission Company provides solar power to 10,000 nomadic households. The number of rural electricity users in Iran has reached more than 21 million, accounting for more than 31 percent of the country's total electricity consumption.

För att möta dessa elbehov har Iran byggt 25,000 kilometer distributionsnät. Före den islamiska revolutionen var endast 4 367 byar anslutna till det nationella nätet. Men i och med den islamiska revolutionens seger har tillgången till elektricitet på landsbygden ökat med 15 gånger.

Currently, 57,966 villages are connected to the national grid, accounting for more than 99.7 percent , and the rest will also be connected to the grid in the next four years. According to Iran's Ministry of Energy, renewable energy currently accounts for nearly 7 percent of the country's total power generation.

Av den totala installerade kapaciteten för förnybar energi i Iran står solenergi för 44 procent, vindkraftsparker för 40 procent och små vattenkraftverk står för 13 procent.
